Had it not been for your help and guidance and total support throughout I think I would have found the experience as manageable as I did.  You went above and beyond the call of duty in being kind and helpful. The receptionists and the surgeon at the clinic were extremely helpful and communicated well. So far I am losing weight, I have lost 6 kilos in 4 weeks but I am struggling with food. I still cannot eat anything beyond soups and sloppy mashed food but I am coping with it well. Thank you for the help and kindness your support  – your answers to my many questions have made it all happen. I hope when I return in February I can report great success.

Everything has been going well. I have been resting and trying to sleep as much as possible. Slowly I have been able to drink more fluid and eat soft foods like apple sauce. I am feeling better today and will probably return to work tomorrow. 

I’m back home and I think everything is healing well. Just wanted to say a very heart felt “thank you” for getting speedy answers to all my questions and being there should we have needed any support whilst in Prague. As you know other a month has transpired since my surgery and I have lost a little over two stone so far. I hope the success continues, I have felt extremely well and not suffered any problems with the initial dietary requirements.

Arranging my operation at the clinic was easy to do, I received regular emails from my representative who assured me I would be well looked after as I was travelling alone. It was great not having to worry about transfer to hotel when arriving in Prague and to be met and escorted to the clinic on the day of surgery. It was nerve wracking when tests were being carried out prior to surgery and it would have been nice to have known in advance what tests were to be done, but staff was very nice and reassured me at every point.
The Dr and nursing staff were great and whilst there were some small communication issues that was easily overcome. I would recommend medical travel and Iscare to anyone considering weight loss surgery.

I think my experience here in Prague was very pleasant. There was good communication all around and I felt welcomed from the moment I came off the airplane. I appreciated the fact that Martina came to the hotel to accompany me to the clinic. I thought it was a very nice gesture especially when I was so nervous about the surgery and although I am a nurse myself and used to clinical environment, it can be very scary to have surgery so many miles away from home. At the clinic everyone was polite and spoke well english. I was taken very good care of and I can not fault the service in anyway. It was a fantastic team of doctors, nurses, phlebotomist, dietitian and receptionists. If I was to have surgery again in Prague I would as I had a very positive experience. Thank you so much.

The idea of travelling to another country to have surgery can be a daunting one. I wasn’t sure if it was the right thing to do or whether I should save up more money and have the surgery in the UK so I naturally had nerves about the whole situation. That was until my initial email query was picked up by Erika who then became my primary contact at Medical Travel Czech. Every question I had whether it was about hotels, the surgery, the recovery, the currency, how to get to and from the airport; everything that I needed to know, Erika had the answers for me whether it was day or night. She was a constant source to reassure me as I planned every detail of my trip and with every response, I felt more confident that I was making the right decision in going abroad for surgery.

I seem to be recovering well after gastric balloon and the weight is coming off!.

Everything was a complete success and best of all for me the weight is continuing to come off. I arranged this procedure at quite short notice. Thanks to you the whole process was made very simple and you kept me well informed about what was happening at each stage. It was great to be picked up at the airport on arrival and taken directly to my hotel of choice. The hotel (Exe City Park) was really good with very friendly and helpful staff. I was obviously nervous the next morning when I met you. It was great to be accompanied by you to the clinic. As far as the clinic was concerned, all of the staff were friendly, professional, very helpful. The fact that I am English did not cause a problem and I knew what was going on all the time. As far as the procedure is concerned there is not much I can say as I don’t really remember it. All I can say is I never suffered any problems apart from nausea which was to be expected. The clinic provided me with a full report including photographs to give to my Doctor at home I felt pretty rough for the next couple of days but, thankfully that has passed now and I am continuing to lose weight. You told me before I came that Prague was a beautiful City. You were absolutely right. My wife and I did a lot of walking and riding the tram. I was stunned how lovely it was and spotlessly clean. We are very much looking forward to going back. Thank you personally, and the team at Medical Travel for making this a trouble free trip. I have had 2 weeks of after procedure. Just having bland soups and ice lollies. My weight is now 75kg, down from 80kg. Thank you for all your help, the clinic was very professional and I am very happy with the service.

I wouldn’t change a thing. Fantastic service from start to finish. I felt very safe and well looked after even after I had left the clinic. Having the co-ordinator meet me at the hospital and staying with me to translate everything into English was the best part of the experience, which I valued even more as I was alone.

I had no problems or sickness. All went well and I enjoyed my time in Prague. I am suffering from bad heartburn but I’m keeping a food diary of foods that doesn’t cause it. Only started soft food yesterday as advised but even tea and coffee seem to cause it. On the plus side I have lost 11 Ibs in a week! The staff were lovely and the clinic very good. Looking forward to my return to Prague in a year and will definitely spend more time there for sightseeing. 

From making an enquiry with medical travel through to procedure being carried out I found the whole process very seamless and my co-ordinator Hana very informative and always on hand to offer some friendly advice, even with directions.

When I decided to look into having a gastric balloon, I began by searching the internet.  I looked at the criteria and the cost in the UK.  Quickly dismissing this as an unviable option, I looked at what was available abroad. Medical Travel came up in the searches and everything was simple from there.  The website is clear and gives a good indication of the procedures available and their approximate cost.  It was good to be able to decide on affordability before having to contact the company.
